TweenTribune: News for teens, tweens, kids, students & current events

The kids got it right: Obama is re-elected The election came right down to the wire Tuesday night, but the outcome came as no surprise to the teens and tweens who cast votes in polls for the past two months.

In every poll of students at TeenTribune and TweenTribune conducted this election season, President Barack Obama got more votes than former Governor Mitt Romney.

President Barack Obama took command of the fierce race for the White House Tuesday night, capturing battleground Ohio from Mitt Romney and edging ahead in other pivotal states despite a weak economy and high unemployment that crimped the middle class dreams of millions.

At home in Chicago, the president all but claimed victory. "This happened because of you. Thank you" he tweeted to supporters.

Romney was in Massachusetts after a long and grueling bid for the presidency.

Critical thinking challenge: How did the results of polls taken in September and October relate the actual results of voting in November?
