Debbie Wasserman Schultz denies knowledge of ?Priorities USA? political affiliation

In an appearance on this weekend?s broadcast of ?Fox News Sunday,? Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz denied knowing the political party affiliation of Priorities USA, a pro-Obama super PAC behind a controversial ad that accuses Mitt Romney of being responsible for a cancer death by inference.

?First of that?s a Priorities USA ? it?s not a Democratic ad,? she said. ?It?s a Priorities USA super PAC ad which we have nothing to do with it. I have no idea the political affiliation of the folks associated with that super PAC.?

But she explained the ad in her mind was less about the death of the cancer victim and more about the overall impact on someone?s life as a result of Bain Capital?s actions under Mitt Romney.

?That is a super PAC ad that is not affiliated with the campaign or with the party,? she continued. ?What I think of the ad is there is no question that the ad raises facts such as that Mitt Romney when he was CEO of Bain Capital bankrupted companies, laid off workers, cut their benefits and made millions in profits. That ad points out that there are consequences to making decisions like that that impacted people?s live in a significant way. That was what that ad was underscoring.?

But Wasserman Schultz cried foul over the backlash, wanting to know why there was none on the other side over some of the attacks on President Barack Obama.

?It?s really interesting that there?s no indignation ? the hypocrisy that exists,? she said. ?Where is the indignation that exists on the other side with super PACs affiliated with Mitt Romney?s campaign or in support of Mitt Romney?s campaign. They?ve inferred that Barack Obama isn?t even American. They?ve questioned his birth certificate is legitimate. There are so many questions that question Barack Obama?s patriotism or whether he?s even an American.?

?Where is the same indignation? Is Fox condemning the super PAC ads supporting Mitt Romney in the way there is indignation over this ad? The bottom line: Mitt Romney CEO of Bain Capital profited from bankrupting companies like GST Steel, cutting their benefits and firing workers and made money anyway. And there are consequences. That has an impact people?s lives and the person in the ad wanted to talk about what he thought the impact on his family life was.?
